CEMIARC GRADUATES 17 OJTs
MSU-Datu Odin Sinsuat On the Job Trainees 2010In keeping up with its mission of being instruments in honing the youth, the DA-CEMIARC continue to be host in the conduct of On the Job Training (OJT) for students from state colleges and universities. For many years now, staff and personnel of the Center unselfishly share their expertise and knowledge in their chosen fields.
Last May 21, 2010, seventeen (17) students of the Mindanao State University, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao, completed their one (1) month stay. The two (2) batches comprise eight (8) Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (BSA) and nine (9) Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering (BSAE) students.
With their month long stay in the Center, they were able to learn Research and Development Support services programs (mostly on crop production), Technical Programs (conduct of Research and Development on crops and livestock), support services programs(soils laboratory services), as well as farm machinery (tractor driving) operations.
On May 21, 2010 the OJTs were also exposed to actual sustainable technology demonstration projects on a field tour of the Mindanao Rural Life Center (MBLRC) at Kinuskusan, Bansalan, Davao del Sur.
Insights on sustainable good agricultural practices were actually learned and visited by the students. By witnessing hands-on activities, they were able to add some more knowledge in their educational quest and personal career development.Their field tour winded up with a quick splash at Le Reve resort, Makilala, Cotabato.
During their graduation program, class advisers for both batches also came and shared their inspirational messages for the OJTs. Also, Center Manager Eduardo B. Solomon, challenged each graduate to strive in their studies and add each learning experience to their stocked knowledge. Also in attendance were the staff and employees of the Center, most of whom have contributed so much in their on the job sojourn. Our deepest gratitude to everyone especially to the Knowledge Products and Services (KPS) Chief Ms. Berdeneth Valdevieso Pacio.
