DA-CEMIARC for Upland Plain turns 71

Mr. Felix P. Amancio, Jr. Station SuperintendentIn a simple yet meaningful celebration to commemorate the 71st anniversary of the station on June 23, 2010, a thanksgiving mass, anniversary program, inter-satellite station volleyball game, CEMIARC-Got-Talent and a “salo-salo” highlighted the celebration.

With the theme:” Ika-pitumpu’t-isang taong paglilingkod at pagharap sa pagbabago ng panahon”, DA-CEMIARC for Upland Plain will dare the years ahead. It has not ceased from facing challenges and the challenge of climate change will be its advocacy for the entire humanity to take the initiatives and be part of the solution rather than aggravate the situation. Mr. Felix P. Amancio, Jr. the Station Superintendent warmly welcomed each and every visitor to this very significant affair. He further challenged the role that everyone can play to be advocates of climate change. He also acknowledged the support extended by the past directors who contributed to the upliftment and development of the station in its 71st anniversary.

The station history was presented to give tribute to our past superintendents and its tangible accomplishment and milestones. Representing the Director, RTD Jimmy Olivo has encouraged everyone to take part for our global concern to make necessary approaches  and strategies to alleviate the effects of climate change. Messages of inspiration and encouragement were also given by former Directors Roger C. Chio, Bienvenido A. Almirante, Center Manager Ed Solomon and former CEMIARC Manager Niceto P. Agduyeng. With all their unselfish support to the station, coupled with station management initiatives, they paved the way to new developments today.

On the other hand, the Balindog Team made it to the championship round and was awarded a cash prize of P800.00 and a trophy. Likewise, out of the 12 hopefuls, Ms. Danica Kriselle D. Lumbao  of Balindog was adjudged as CEMIARC-Got-Talent grand winner with a cash prize of P1,000.00 and a trophy. Ms. Joy Misterio, Ms. Dina Casa and Ms. Jocelyn Leong were the judges of the competition.

Key officials of the DA Regional Office, colleagues from other satellite stations of Amas, Tupi, Aroman and Tacurong, other retirees, barangay council of Balindog/constituents and friends from the Local Government Unit of Kidapawan City graced the occasion which undoubtedly, contributed to the success of the activity.
